- John Coy, Jr., last will and testament was made October 5, 1817andprobated bythe Clerk of the Court Elizabethtown, Hardin County,Kentuckyon November 10, 1817. The will lists nine children born ofJohn andComfort. On the 4th day ofAugust 1813 between John Coy of Hardin County andSamuelMc Adams, Elder of the Baptist Church on the Rolling River Fork,andDaniel Coy, Deacon of said church, John Coy gave the church oneacre ofground, the land being next to John Coy's and Daniel Coy's landon theRolling Fork. The land was located on the south side of theRolling Forknext to John Coy's land. On the 10th day of June 1811, John and Comfort Coy deeded one acreofground to Daniel Coy for the sum ofone pound. Land was in the countyofHardin an dlocated on the Rolling Fork next to John Coys 300 acresurveyof his property. According to information obtained by visiting in La Rue countyKentuckythe Baptist Church, on the south side of the Rolling Fork, wasnot to farfrom the town of New Haven. The cemetery is located in theyard aroundthe church. According to some reports mention was made that when John Coy Sr. diedhehad minor children so a guardian, James Hancock, was appointed.
