- Dear Calvin, I wanted to talk to you about the Charles Hart reference, in that you have him listed as Chloe Hart's father. I understand that he is named on her marriage bond so many researchers are claiming him as her father. You as well You can change your information on this, becausein the Kentucky pension records summary which I was reading says thatwhen he received his pension ok on Feb. 1, 1833, he was 73 years old, not anything like 90 or 100, so subtracting 73 from 1833, gives his estimated birth as between Feb. 2, 1759 and Feb. 1, 1760, and since Chloe was born in 1765 and married in 1780, he couldn't possibly beher father, but more likely her brother, and because he shows up on her marriage bond, either her father was deceased or wasn't in thecountry. One other thing, I need stronger evidence that Charles H. Shofner is indeed Charles Hart Shofner. This is very important to me, because I'm trying to link my Charles Shofner to "Ole" Henry. It would really help if you have something other than an anonymous book. Bible entry? anything? Did you get my list of 13 reasons which I put down that circumstantially link Charles and Henry, the most compelling would of course be if his name is indeed Charles Hart Shofner and then I would feel confident in going ahead with a DAR application for my mother's first cousin who was 90 this year and belongs in that organization,I'm sure!!
Thanks for your reply, Bill Attwood Tucson, Arizona
