In the name of God Amen. I John Elmore of North Farnham Parish andCountyof Richmond being sick of body but in sound sence and memorythanks be toGod do make and ordain this to be my last will andtestament in mannerand form following I give my soul to God that gaveit first to me and mybody to be buried in a Christian like manner asmy executors hereaftermentioned shall think fitting and worldly goodsafter my debts are paid. Vizt:--- Item. I give and bequeath to my loving wife Ann Elmore my whole estatetomake use of during her natural life or widowhood and at her deathormarriage to return to my children.
Item. I give and bequeath to my son George Elmore the plantation Inowlive on and the heirs of his body lawfully begotten and for want ofsuchheirs to return to my son John Elmore and his heirs forever.
Item. I give and bequeath to my son Travers Elmore my Negro womanWinnyand his heirs forever and for want of such heirs to return to mysonCharles Elmore.
Item. I give and bequeath to my son John Elmore my horse colt and mylonggun to his own proper use.
Item. I give as not before to my son George my short gun and fiddletohis own proper use.
Item. It is my will and desire that my sons Charles and TraversElmorehave two years schooling apeace and the rest of my estate as notbeforebequeathed to be equally divided amongst all my children.
