  Named in will of father Hugh Black's will of 1808, which was proven in 1810. Jeremiah left will; made 4 Feb 1833 and proven 21 Oct 1833, naming wife Sarah; children: Matilda Spurrier, Robert, Sanford, Gamaliel, Charles, and Franklin. In court records taken on 17 February 1835; a Joseph P. Beauchamp stated he knew both Sarah and Jeremiah Black as husband/wife.  He had heard that Jeremiah died in Texas in 1833. Apparently, per depo, Jeremiah was in the process of moving his family to Texas in 1833, when he died. Apparently he went to Texas initally without his family. The death confirmed from the man who helped bury him. Lengthy Green County, Kentucky circuit court suit between William Barret and the Black family heirs provided some general information of this family.   Jeremiah/Sarah had at least 10 children; per one circuit court record of May 1842. At that time; only Mary "Polly" Black had died.
