  Lengthy Green County, Kentucky circuit court suit between William Barret and the Black family heirs provided some general information of this family.  The suit was triggered after the 1833 death of father Jeremiah Black; and at that time; only Mary "Polly" Black had died before 1833. During this lengthy suit; it was reported that Cornelius had died in 1836 in Texas.  Interesting that is where his father died in 1833; and perhaps he was picking up where his father left off when he also died.  This per deposition of Robert L. Graham on 10 February 1848, who stated that Cornelius died in Texas about 1836. He (Robert) read a letter to the family informing them of the death.  Cornelius left no issue.
