  13 Feb. 1846 - Sanford Black, one of the 10 heirs of Jeremiah Black, deceased, to Alexander Scott of Green County, Ky. all of my interest to the one tract of land. Lengthy Green County, Kentucky circuit court suit between William Barret and the Black family heirs provided some general information of this family.  The suit was triggered after the 1833 death of father Jeremiah Black. During this lengthy suit; it was reported that Sanford died in 1847. Will of Sanford Black in Lebanon, Wilson County, Tennessee was made on 16 March 1846 and proven 3 March 1847 in Wilson County, Tennessee.  Named brothers Robert, Franklin, Gamaliel, and Charles.  Robert was appointed to Divide estate; and was living in Green County, Kentucky at time of will.
