- Census 1930 Brooklyn,Powesheik,Iowa, referred to as Annie Obituary: Mrs. Frank Kann Anna Belle Dunbar was born April 5, 1868 near Buchanan, in Berian County, Michigan. At the age of 8 years she, with her par- ents, journeyed to Powesheik Coun- ty in a covered wagon. She was among the early settlers of the community. The family settled near Brooklyn where she received her educationin the rural schools of Powesheik county. On April 15, 1886 she was joined in marriage to Frank Kann of Brooklyn. To this union were born five childrenone of which prded- ed her in death at the age of a few days. The other children, Wil- liam Kann; Mrs. Pearl Kuntz; Mrs. Mae Robey and Ted Kann, all of this community were at their moth- er's beside when her death occured. She passed away at her home in Brooklyn on October 25, 1937 at the age of 69 years,6 months, nad 20 days. For almost three years Mrs. Kann was bedfast. She was a great lov- er of her family, her home and her flowers. She leaves to mourn her passing a loving husband, her four child- ren, 8 grandchildren,a sister, Mrs. Alonzo Owens of Marshalltown, Iowa, a brother, Richard Dunbar of Delafield, Illinois, besides number- ous other relatives and friends. Her lifecombined the Christian virtues of love, patience, faithful- ness and devotion to the the high ideals of life, nad the inspiration of her life will ever continue in the lives of those who loved her.
