Notes |
- Was a Baptist Preacher in Oklahoma.
I am trying to research the DILLS, SKAGGS, and UNDERWOODS on my mother's side. I noticed that you submitted the names John T. SKAGGS and Mary Jane UNDERWOOD in Family Tree Maker. I believe these people are the same ones I am looking for. I don't know how much information you have on them, but I located and visited their graves in a cemetery at Tecumseh, Oklahoma. Here are the dates:
John T. Skaggs Mary Jane Underwood b. Feb. 4, 1834 b. Sept. 14, 1836 d. Jan. 10, 1910 d. Jan 18, 1916
Census records indicate they are from Kentucky. I descend from their son, John Hamilton Skaggs, (b. Sept. 1867 d. Feb. 5, 1936 married Mary Ann Dills ) who was a Baptist Preacher in Oklahoma. Would you happento have additional information on the Skaggs, Underwoods, and what county they resided in Kentucky? I would appreciate anything you are willing to share, no matter how trivial. Sincerely, Farand Smith
