Son of the late John William and Mattie Skaggs Bell, he was born inLaRueCounty, Ky. He was a farmer and a member of Bethel BaptistChurch. He was married to Esther Puyear Bell, who survives. Survivors also include one daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and PhilJacobsof Edgewood, Ky.; two surrogate daughters, Stephanie PickerillBuckman ofRaywick, Ky., and Beth Pickerill Cox of Campbellsville;onegranddaughter, Ellen Ann Jacobs of Edgewood; one grandson, AnthonyEdwardJacobs of Edgewood; three surrogate grandchildren, HannahBuckman andKaylee Buckman, both of Raywick, and Andrew Cox ofCampbellsville; andone sister, Helen Coulter of Jeffersontown, Ky.
