• Notes

  Ellen Savage, a daughter of Sir John Savage, of Clifton, had a license from the Pope for marrying Peter Legh 4 of Pope Paul II. This first contract was dissolved, and she married Piers Warburton, son of Sir Geoffrey Warburton, who died 1448. Piers Warburton in 1436 had married Elizabeth Mainwaring, and this contract was dissolved, and she was living 33 years after.
