INCORPORATION: When Jamestown was incorporated in May 1873, he was one ofthepetitioners and was appointed as trustee.[308]
CENSUS: There were about twenty Carrol heads of household in Barry Co., MO and about 30 Spencer heads of household, including H.A. Spencer, in the1840US Census.[321] There was also a Hugh Carrol listed in the 1840 and 1850 census records for Barry and McDonald counties in Missouri. These were neighboring counties in southwest Missouri.[321] It is unlikely thatthis was Hugh Alexander Carroll.[320]
