Thomas Shepard in the "Defence"in1635, bringing his wife Elizabeth and four children. He settled at Cambridge and in1652was one of 13 petitioners for the separation of Billerica, formerly Shawshin,fromCambridge. In 1647 he was Licutenant and afterward Captain of Militia. In 1659 hewasauthorized to solemnize marriages within Billerica and Chelmsford. He was selectman 1660-4and1670-3.
