- Mr. Alvin Skaggs, 72, of Sandy Y community in TaylorCounty,Campbellsville, Star Route, son of the late Mr. Richard Skaggsand Mrs.Martish Underwood Skaggs, was born in Taylor County, Kentucky,September27, 1904. He died at 3:38 p.m., Friday, January 7, 1977, atTaylorCounty Hospital in Campbellsville where he had been a patientfor thepast day. He had professed faith in Christ and was of theBaptist faith. He was employed at Gamble Brothers in Louisville for anumber of yearsbefore his retirement in 1965. Mr. Skaggs united inmarrige to MissJennie Nelson January 1, 1929. She preceded him indeath June 14, 1965.To this union three sons were born. One son,Harold Junior Skaggs, diedin infancy. Surviving are Mr. WillardSkaggs and Mr. Harlin Ray Skaggs,both of Campbellsville, Star Route.He is also survived by one grandsonand one granddaughter: Mr. PerrySkaggs and Miss Gina Skaggs, both ofCampbellsville, Star Route; onehalf-brother: Rev. Andy Skaggs ofBuffalo; several nieces and nephews.Funeral services were conducted at2 p.m., Sunday, January 9, atParrott & Ramsey Funeral Chapel inCampbellsville by Rev. S. C. Johnsonand Rev. Garlen Skaggs. Burial wasin Otter Creek Separate BaptistChurch Cemetery. Pallbearers were RonellHowell, Hiestand Underwood,Gowdy Hash, Charles Atwell, Roger Perkins,and Hoyt Howell.
