Ventura County Star (CA) - July 7, 2010
Deceased Name: Blanche Ingram McBroom
Born:1937 - Died:2010
Blanche Ingram McBroom, age 72, of Ventura passed away peacefully July 3, 2010 from health complications.
Blanche was a wonderful, loving and compassionate woman, always available for anyone in need. She was a great wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, friend and artist. She had a love for life and travel and a contagious sense of humor.
She was an incredibly creative artist and won many awards for her paintings of animals and portraits on porcelain, always in her own style. Blanche was very generous and giving of her talent and frequently donated her work to support the arts. She taught art and china painting for over 20 years.
Blanche also supported a lot of organizations that save wildlife and other animals. She found pleasure shopping for treasures at flea markets, antique shows and shops, but her favorite was the weekly swap meet where she had many friends. She loved to show off and share her findings with her friends and family.
Travel was a high priority for her. She believed it to be the best way to learn about life and the world. She took many trips with friends and family to Europe and Australia, she always wanted to go to Africa but due to her illness she was not able to go.
Blanche was born to Milton Bigler Ingram and Mary Elaine Johnson on July 21, 1937 in Nephi, Utah. Her and her husband Rex celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary Oct. 2, 2005. Rex passed away that following June.
Blanche will be missed by all that knew her, but painfully missed by her loving family: daughter, Teri McBroom Willison; son, Scott McBroom; stepdaughters, Victoria Lynne Rogers and Kimberly McBroom Sparks; brother, Reed Daniel Ingram; sister, Lois Ingram Love; brother-in-law, Richard P. McBroom; she is also survived by her three grandchildren, Whitney Willison, Casey Willison, and Kyle Handrahan; and nephews, Shawn and Seth Love, Richard, Gary and Danny McBroom and Cindy and Danny Ingram.
In lieu of flowers and in honor of Blanche, the family suggests donations be made to Focus on the Masters at www.focusonthemasters.com, the Fireman's Relief Association, or any charity that involves the arts or animals.
Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday July 9 at the Joseph Reardon Funeral Chapel, 757 E. Main Street in Ventura; 643-8623. All are invited.
