- Obituary: DECLO, ID -- Duane D. Cole, 67 year old Declo and formerSaltLake City, Utah resident, who was a loving father andgrand-fatherdecided to unite with his wife in heaven on Monday, April17, 2000, atthe Portneuf Valley Rehabilitation Center in Pocatello. He was born January 3, 1933, in Declo, the son of David and IreneIngramCole. Duane was the seventh of eleven children. He attendedschools inDeclo and Burley, graduating in 1951. He married Ruth Searleon October30, 1959 in View. Their marriage was later solemnized in theIdaho FallsLDS Temple in 1964. Ruth preceded him in death on December27, 1990. Heattended Steven Henagers College in Salt Lake City, Utah,where he earneda Bachelors Degree in accounting. He worked as a meatcutter for Safewayfor twelve years in Utah and Idaho. Duane alsoworked as an independentcarpet layer for sixteen years in Utah. He wasa member of the LDS Churchand served in various positions. He lovedsports, being in the outdoorsand fishing. He was loved and will begreatly missed by all that knewhim. Survivors include a son, Daniel (Rebecca) Cole of Idaho Falls;adaughter, Shanna (Michael Sr.) Cole-Browder of Vashon, Washington;abrother, Harvey Cole of Pocatello; four sisters, Florence JonesofRupert; Lois Rassmussen of Declo; Cleo Beckstrand and KathrynAnderson,both of San Jose, California; five grandchildren, Caleb andCaitlynn Coleof Idaho Falls; and Naticia, Lauren and Michael Jr.Browder of Vashon,Washington; and many nieces, nephews, great niecesand great nephews.Inaddition to his wife, he was preceded in death byhis parents, fourbrothers and one sister. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 21, 2000, attheView LDS 1st and 2nd Ward Chapel, 550 South 490 East of Burley,withBishop Jon Searle, officiating. Burial will follow in the ViewCemetery.Friends may call at the Payne Mortuary, 221 West Main Streetin Burley,Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and from 10 to 10:45 a.m. prior tothe funeralon Friday.
