Born Sept. 23, 1904 in Fayette, Mich. Mrs. Downard worked in ChinaLakeas a nurse and a chemist for 30 years. She was a member of the St.JudeAltar Society and a resident of Kern County for 44 years. She is survived by her daughters Carol Plant of Weldon, Diane WolneyofSquirrel Valley, and Barbara Perham of Bodfish, her son Jim DownardofLake Isabella, sisters Millie Manecke of Bishop, Betty Rogers ofColfaxand Dorothy Sweeney of Reno, Nev., 21 grandchildren and 13greatgrandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband JamesDownard in1981. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 am Tuesday at St.JudeParrish Catholic Church in Wofford Heights. Monsignor A.
