GRANTSVILLE--James Leishman Wrathall, 72, one of the most prominentmenof Grantsville and Tooele county, died at his home here Tuesdaymorningfrom a heart attack. Mr. Wrathall had not been in good healthfor sometime.

Mr. Wrathall was born in Grantsville, September 22, 1860, the sonofJames and Mary Leishman Wrathall. He followed farming and stockraisingall his life. In 1887 he was called to Wisconsin and Illinoison an L. D.S. mission, serving until 1889. He was married in the SaltLake L. D. S.Endowment house February 2, 1882, to Peninah S. Hunter,daughter ofBishop Edward Hunter. He later married Charlotte Rowberry.He was madebishop of the Grantsville L. D. S. ward July 30, 1890,serving in thatcapacity 17 1-2 years. At the time of his death he waspresident of theTooele L. D. S. stake high priests' quorum.

He was an ardent political worker in the Republican party sinceitsorganization in Utah. He was a member of the Grantsville schoolboard 13years, and, after the county consolidation, served 17 years onthe Tooelecounty board of education. For four years he served as amember of thestate board of agriculture, and acted on directorates ofseveral localand state financial institutions.

Mr. Wrathall was born in Grantsville on Sept. 22, 1860, the son ofJamesand Mary Leishman Wrathall. He followed farming and stock raisingand wasconsidered an exceptionally good financier.

He later marriedCharlotteRowberry, also of Grantsville. On July 30. 1890, he was madebishop ofthe Grantsville ward, serving in that capacity for 17 1/2years. At thetime of his death he was president of the Tooele stakeHigh Priests'quorum.
