- Mrs. Lena Calhoon Gray, 82, daughter of the late Mr. AndrewJacksonUnderwood and Mrs. Lizzie Buley Underwood, was born August 26,1895, inTaylor County and departed this life at 4:45 a.m., Friday,December 9,1977, at the Jane Todd Crawford Memorial Hospital inGreensburg. She hadmade a profession of faith in Christ and was amember of the TaylorChapel Methodist Church. She united in marriageto Mr. William H.Calhoon, December 22, 1917, and he preceded her indeath April 23, 1951.To this union were born three daughters and twosons: Mrs. FrancisStearman and Mrs. Sheila Stearman, both ofSummersville, Mrs. Leonard(Katherine) Milby, Magnolia, Milton Calhoon,Florida, and Coy DeanCalhoon, Danville. She lated united in marriageto Mr. Claude Gray, whopreceded her in death. Mrs. Gray is alsosurvived by threestep-daughters: Grace Snyder, Indianapolis, Mrs. MaryJane Davis,Indiana, and Mrs. Cleo Dewitt, Greensburg; four sisters andfourbrothers: Mrs. Stella Coakl! ey, Greensburg, Mrs. Beatrice Moore, Louisville, Mrs. MargaretWinders,Louisville, and Mrs. Blanche Gallager, Indiana, EzraUnderwood,Greensburg, Clarence and Garnett Underwood, both ofLouisville, and EllisUnderwood of Illinois; four grandchildren andeight great-grandchildrenand five step-grandchildren. Funeralservices were conducted at Cowherd& Parrott Funeral Home at 1 p.m.,Sunday, December 11, by Rev. MatthewJanes. Burial was in WilsonCemetery.
