- mr George Alcock, he came wth the first company a�o. 1630. he lefthisonly son in England, his wife dyed soone after he came to thisland, whenthe people of Rocksbrough joyned to the church at Dorchester(vntill suchtime as God should give them oportunity to be a churchamong themselves)he was by the church chosen to be a Deakon esp'?? toregard the brethrenat Rocksbrough: And after he adjoyned himselfe tothis church atRocksbrough, he was ordained a Deakon of this church: hemaide twovoyages to England vpon just calling therevnto; wherein hehad muchexperiens of Gods p'servation & blessing, he brought over hisson JohnAlcock. he also brought over a wife by whom he had his 2d sonSamuelborne in the year. he lived in a good and godly sort, & d yed inthe endof the 10th month a¤o. 1640. & left a good savor behind him
