- Mrs. Jennie E. Dearen, 74, of the Meadow Creek Community, died at 2:05 p.m., Tuesday, August 12, 1980, at the Taylor County Hospital. Funeral services were at 2 p.m., Friday, August 15, at the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Chapel by Rev. Fred Reed and Rev. Mike Brown. Burial was in Brookside Cemetery. Pallbearers were Leroy Knifley, Jimmie Knifley, James Earl Smith, Clay Rogers, Gene Rice and Doug Hogan. She was a member of the Bethel First Presbyterian Church. She united in marriage to Mr. George H. Dearen Sr., August 16, 1930. He preceded her in death December 8, 1973. To this union one son was born: Mr. George Henry Dearen Jr., Campbellsville, Route 5. Besides her son, she is survived by one granddaughter and one grandson; Mr. Daryl Douglas Dearen and Miss Patricia Ann Dearen, both of Campbellsville, Route 5; two brothers: Mr. Elton Douglas of Boulder, Colorado, and Mr. Russell Douglas of Neligh, Nebraska; several nieces and nephews.
