- Homer Shofner, 84, a retired farmer and carpenter of Levelwood RoadinCampbellsville, son of the late Johnny Shofner and Nora LeeSkaggsShofner, was born in Taylor County, on March 18, 1905. He diedat 2:15p.m., Sunday, March 26, 1989, in Campbellsville. He was amember of theNew Bethlehem Baptist Church. He united in marriage toBessie Brewer onDec. 18, 1926. She preceded him in death on Feb. 25,1982. He was alsopreceded in death by one son, Jimmy Shofner, on Dec.22, 1981. He issurvived by one son, Norman Shofner, Campbellsville;one granddaughterand one grandson, Vinessa Johnson and Dwayne Shofner,both ofHodgenville; one great-granddaughter and two great-grandsons,CandaceShofner, Joshua Johnson, and Justin Johnson, all ofHodgenville; foursisters and one brother, Emma Hunt, Minnie Anderson,Clara Skaggs, ExieTrumbo, and Grady Shofner, all of Illinois; severalnieces and nephewsand many other relatives and friends. The funeralwas at 4:30 p.m.,Tuesday, March 28, at the Parrott & Ramsey FuneralHome in Campbellsvilleby the Rev. Otis C. Skaggs. Burial was at NewBethlehem BaptistCemetery. Pallbearers were Paul Underwood, SteveUnderwood, JimmyUnderwood, William Pickerell, Rondel Howell, andEugene Wright.
