I am reasonably sure that the above mentioned Elizabeth Hicks isthemother of Elizabeth Jane Hicks, 2nd wife of Edwin R. Kasson. She is livingwithher son Nicholas Hicks in 1860 & 1870 , listed in the Deerfield, OneidaCounty,New York Federal Census(es). In the 1850 Deerfield, Oneida County, NewYorkFederal census, a Margaret and Nicholas Hicks are enumerated with her.Elizabethis listed as age 52, born New York. Living next door is Edwin R. Kassonandwife Elizabeth J. Kasson. A Catherine Kasson, age 70, is listed withtheEdwin Kasson family in the 1850, Deerfield, Oneida County, New York, FederalCensus.Possibly the mother of his first wife, Sarah C. Hicks.
