- Joseph Ray Underwood, 49, 315 North Columbia Ave., Campbellsville,diedThursday, Nov. 3, 1988, at the Markey Cancer Center in Lexingtonafter ashort illness. He was the son of Elsie Underwood, whosurvives, and thelate Bennie Underwood. He was an employee of theLyon-DeWitt FuneralHome and was a member of the Poplar Grove UnitedMethodist Church. Hewas preceded in death by his father in 1984 and abrother, JackUnderwood, in 1971. He is survived by one son and onedaughter, ScottyUnderwood, Campbellsville, and Carla Jo Morgan,Lebanon; two brothers andfour sisters, Garland Underwood,Elizabethtown, Mona Brewer and LovieBrewer, both of Campbellsville,and Franklin Hiestand Underwood, EssieVance, and Connie Caulk, all ofBuffalo; several other relatives andfriends. The funeral was at 2p.m. Sunday, Nov. 5, at the Poplar GroveUnited Methodist Church withburial in the church cemetery. The Rev.Elbert Hadley and the Rev.Lester Carter officiated. Lyon-DeWitt Fu! neral Home was in charge of arrangements.
