Doris Knight Edwards, 82, died Wednesday, November 10, 2004, atEvansMemorial Hospital in Claxton after a long illness. She was a nativeandlifelong resident of Tattnall County. She was a homemaker, and amemberof Smyrna Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by herhusband,William Barney Edwards, and her sister, Marjorie Williams. She is survived by two sons, Rufus "Dub” Edwards of Mendes andCharlesGordon Edwards of Glennville; daughters and sons-in-law:Charlotte andRichard Webb of Hinesville; Carolyn Edwards of Dahlonega;WandaSwindell, Gail and Jerry Dasher, Patsy and Danny Holliday, Susanand LJ. Groover, and Debbie and Mike Moody, all of Glennville; abrother,Graham Knight of Reidsville; four sisters: Willie Jo Dowdy andBarbaraDreggors of Glennville; Mary Sue Hodovanic of Ohio; andLucySeltenright of Los Angeles; 19 grandchildren; 24great-grandchildren; andseveral nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, November 13, atthechapel of Cobb Funeral Home, with the Rev. Edward Brannen, the Rev.BobbyBrinkley, and the Rev. Kenny Edwards officiating. Burial was inSandsField Cemetery. Pallbearers were Stacey Dasher, J. G. Cannady, Adam Moody,GeneEdwards, Junior Groover, Ty Swindell, Scott Cramer, and ShaneHolliday. Remembrances can be made to the Smyrna Baptist Church Building Fundorto Pearls of Life Hospice. Thomas L. Carter Funeral Home of Hinesville, Georgia, was in chargeofthe arrangements.
