- Mauda Underwood DeSpain, 66, Crescent Hill Manor,Campbellsville,daughter of the late A. T. and Gertrude BloydUnderwood, was born inLarue County April 3, 1921. She died at 4:11a.m. Sunday, Nov. 15, 1987,at the Taylor County Hospital after anextended illness. She was amember of the Otter Creek Separate BaptistChurch. She is survived bytwo sons, Tony DeSpain, Campbellsville, andGwen DeSpain, Lavergne, Tenn. One son preceded her in death ininfancy, Roy Vaughn DeSpain. She isalso survived by a grandson and agranddaughter, Justin DeSpain, Georgia,and Joanna DeSpain,Campbellsville; one step-grandson, Brandon Dishman,Campbellsville; twobrothers and four sisters, Russell Underwood,Buffalo, Grant Underwood,Louisville, Aileen Beams and Mattie Cash, bothof Campbellsville,Gladys Gaddie, Indianapolis, and Estelle Pepper,Greensburg; severalnieces and nephews and many other relatives andfriends. She waspreceded in death by two brothers and a sister, EverettU! nderwood, Robert Underwood, and Verna Fraze. The funeral was at 10a.m.Wednesday, Nov. 18, at the Otter Creek Separate Baptist Church inLarueCounty by the Rev. Garlen Skaggs and the Rev. Charlie Warren.Burial wasin the church cemetery.
