John, I haven't found Tidwell connections for Priscilla/Prysilla (alsoas"Precilia"), but have a bit more info' regarding the transaction & some associations that might provide some clues.
Excerpts from the transaction record in Fairfield Co. Deeds, BookA,1785-1794, p. 20 (25 Sept. 1785): "I, Prysilla Tedwell of Burk County & the State of Georgia hath for and consideration of the sum of Twenty-five pounds Sterling paid by John Byrd of the County of Burk and State of Georgia 14 head of horse creatures....all (her) stock that was and is now in the State of South Carolina....the said Prysilla Tedwell doth give the said John Byrd full power and authority...(to locate them.)" Signed with her mark X. Witnessed by John Miller & Michael Byrd (of Chester Co., SC). Probated in Chester Co., SC.
John Byrd & William King (of Fairfield Co.) were to locate & round up the horses. (Evidently, they were close to the Chester Co./Fairfield Co. line.)
John Byrd was also associated with Leah Tidwell of Fairfield Co., SC, on 1 Aug. 1782. He, John King & Moses Knighton appraised the estate of Thomas Miles of Fairfield Co., & Leah bought sundries from the estate. Other buyers were John Byrd; Isaac, Thos., Moses, Alice & Sarah Knighton; Michael "Girden"; Michael Boyd; Chas. Lewis (was Capt. over Lt. James Pickett & Peter Tidwell in 1782-83, & a buyer at the estate of Wm. Tidwell I in1794); Micajah Pickett(also a buyer at the estate of Wm. I [b. VA before 1719, d. SC 1794, m. MaryFunk]); Wm. Miller (associated with a John Tidwell in 1802 & 1810); James Hollis (also assoc'd with John Tidwell in 1802), & Chas. Johnston. (Sorry, I haven't found the Tidwell connections for Leah, either.)
Good luck! Donna
